Ideas of Noise is the meeting point of the practices of artist/musician Sarah Farmer and musician/composer Andrew Woodhead. Through a mixture of performance, installation, intervention and curation, IoN creates live and digital experiences which intersect the worlds of improv, electronica, sound art, noise, contemporary classical and experimental music with a focus on supporting West Midlands artists.

AndreW WoodheAd

Andrew Woodhead is an award winning composer and musician working across a wide variety of contexts, taking in jazz, free improvisation, electronica, folk and new music.  As well as performing around the UK and abroad with his own and other peoples’ projects, he also curates Fizzle, an Improvised Music concert series

sArAH fArmer

Sarah is a violinist, violist, mixed media artist and educator.  She performs regularly as a soloist and in ensembles, her playing mostly focussed on improvisation, contemporary classical and folk.  She also plays in in untraditional folk bands Bonfire Radicals and The Destroyers. As an artist she primarily works with sound, live art and installation and is co-director of The Lombard Method studio
